My soul is drowning all around me.
Grab my hand.
Pull me up.
I am in the depths of my own prison.
Wilder was outshone while
you littered loose-leaf scraps
with Ozark trash.
Worth nothing but
one sea-green penny, you
wished and bet it all on
black.
A cobbled granite well
became my life.
I sleep in hell, only darkness within.
Yet, if you would only smile,
A thousand stars would light my path,
The way out exposed, clear in my mind.
But, you never fancied constellations, and
first falls from this roller-coaster are
everlasting. I'm
tip-toeing on China now
I doubt you'd even care to know
Earth's molten metals are
jealous of you.
Wrap me inside you,
I want to feel your heart sigh.
Your soul is where I take solace,
Love as brilliant as the sun.
Burn me.
Blind my eyes.
Sear the very flesh from my bones.
I melt into your essence.
Does deafness dine on living lobes
when no thing makes a sound? Silent
shrill cyclones play fortissimo on
my ears' two tender toms.
The wall's whisper sighs for
Chardonnay. My veins only offer
Merlot.
And so, I close my eyes.
I call your name, but to no avail,
Your skin cold like marble.
Lost forever like last years winter,
Lost forever to loves chance.
